Tina dos Santos, Birth & Postpartum Doula

Tina Dos Santos, Cranial Sacral Therapist, Certified Doula: I am passionate about my work and sharing time with families during amazing transitions in their lives. My unique combination of education and experience allows me to assist families in easing the birth process as well as offer body work that helps many regain whole body wellness.

A little bit about me and my path to becoming a birth and postpartum doula, licensed massage therapist and cranial sacral therapist. I have been married to a wonderful man from West Africa for the last 15 years. This gives me first hand knowledge and insight about the intricacies of intercultural and interracial relationships. I have 3 adult daughters that, gratefully, all live nearby.

In 2005, many of my friends began having children and they asked me to be present when they gave birth. At one of these births, a birth doula was there as well. I had no idea what a doula was, but I observed and asked a lot of questions. I left that birth “knowing.” I felt incredibly honored to be present during such a life changing experience, and I decided that I should take the birth doula training to be more prepared to help my friends.

Since that time, I have attended over 200 births. I have worked independently and with Open Arms Perinatal Services. Shortly after becoming a birth doula I also became a postpartum doula because I quickly recognized how much need families have for support during the transition after a baby is born.

In 2010 I became a licensed massage practitioner (LMP) while on my road toward becoming a cranialsacral therapist. Over the years of working with families and babies, I saw first hand how cranialsacral therapy could help babies and Moms functions better. So, after finishing massage school, I spend a year and a half studying cranialsacral therapy with the intention of working on infants and babies.

Since then, I have discovered I love working on all ages and sizes! If you’d like to know more about cranial sacral therapy as well as my credentials in this and other areas, please visit my personal website at www.cranialdoula.com.
